Western
Cape Human Settlements Minister Bonginkosi Madikizela will today hand over 100
title deeds in Delft on which R3.2 million rand has been spent in subsidies.
He
said that 22 of the title deeds will be for pensioners and 78 for
non-pensioners.
The
title deeds transfer and handover is part of the Departments strategy to
inculcate a sense of ownership and responsibility amongst housing
beneficiaries.
Madikizela
said Its part of Enhanced Extended Discount Benefit Scheme where we are
spending R3 million to pay off the debt of those people to become home owners.
“It
is very exciting because those people have been living in those houses before
1994 and they have been paying and we are now playing our part as government to
make sure that we meet them in half way by paying outstanding amount so that
they become home owners Madikizela added.
