About 14 have died in the Eastern Cape since the start of the summer circumcision season.
The most recent deaths were reported in Qumbu and Cofimvaba, Transkei.
Among the dead is a 19-year-old who died after circumcising himself with a knife in Butterworth on Tuesday.
The deaths are attributed to untreated infection of the wound, or to dehydration and attendant complications.
