A wild fire in the Western Cape has claimed the lives of one person and has left six people displaced.
Today one person died when a blaze devastated shacks in Strand and in Langa five shacks were burnt and left six people displaced.
Disaster Management spokesperson Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said, “Disaster Management is on scene this morning assessing the affected parties with the necessary disaster relief aids.”
The causes of the fires in the two instances are unknown but an investigation is underway.
