A 23-year-old Cape Town mother has allegedly strangled her newborn baby with a towel on Monday.
The mother was arrested at the Michael Mapongwane Hospital after the staff alerted the police about the incident.
Police spokesperson Nosiphiwo Mntengwane said the woman gave birth at home and arrived at the hospital later with the body of her infant.
She is currently being held at the Harare Police Station and will appear in the Khayelitsha court on Wednesday.
