A man wanted by the Woodstock police

The Woodstock police are searching for a male aged 45-years-old that can assist with the investigation of seven robbery incidents.

These seven robbery incidents occurred at the Liesbeeck Park between June and November 2010.

It has been alleged that the suspect pretended to be a music instructor, in order to lure his victims from the Cape Town Gardens and robbed them at the Liesbeeck Park in Observatory.

All the victims he lured were males.

The suspect threatens the victims at knife point and robs them of cellular phones, cash and valuable items, and runs away from the scene on foot.

Police have stated that the man is known as Billy McCarthy, dark in complexion, and is believed to be from the Lavender Hill area.

Police are urging anyone who has any information to contact investigation officer, Constable Eugene Swanson on 021- 4862863 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
