Cape Town beaches are expected to be extremely busy on this Boxing Day or Day of Goodwill.
Most families around the country celebrate this day by going to the beach.
Lifeguards on the Cape Town beaches are on a high alert of rescuing children who have been swept out to sea.
About 200 lifeguards will be on duty along the coastline.
Lifesaving Western Province spokesperson Keith Matthews said “It is predicted that today will be much busier than we had on Christmas Day”.
