Motorist have been warned by the Road Traffic Management Co-operation that law enforcement officers will continue to monitor all the routes across the country for the rest of the festive season.
Traffic numbers have since dropped on most of the major national roads in the country.
The death toll since the start the festive season has risen to over 900.
Spokesperson Ashraf Ismael said “there is a certain percentage of motorists that chose to ignore the messages and the interventions that government set in place and for them”.
