A man has died and three people were left injured after two cars collided into a lamp post.
The accident happened on the R24 east after the Edenvale offramp.
One person died on the scene and the three injured were all rushed to a nearby hospital.
Inspector Mveli Nhlapo said the accident was caused by speeding and it was suspected that all four men had been under the influence of alcohol.
A case of reckless driving and negligence, as well as culpable homicide, would be opened.
