City of Cape Town sets aside money for bursaries

The city of Cape Town has set aside 3.5 million-Rand to fund 163 external bursaries, 1 838 internal bursaries, 31 graduate internships and 365 co-operative training opportunities.
Councillor Demetri Qually said the majority of the bursaries are for the key areas of engineering, the built environment and finance, where there are currently critical skills shortages.
Qually says one of the five pillars of the City of Cape Town is the opportunity city.
He added that they are implementing the opportunity pillar is by issuing bursaries.
