19 men arrested for possession of drugs in KZN

The National Crime Intelligence driven operation, the SAPS Counter Narcotics team have uncovered a major drug lab in Alexander Drive, in Gillits, KwaZulu-Natal last night.

Lieutenant General Solomon Makgale said the team followed up on intelligence of the manufacture of heroin straws which led them to an elite house in the Gillits area, just outside Pinetown.

“When they entered the building they found that it was a laboratory where drugs were being manufactured. We recovered drugs worth about R41 million rand and arrested 19 foreign nationals of the ages between 18 and 37 years old,” Makgale said.

Makgale added that they will appear in court tomorrow on possible charges of possession and dealing with drugs.
