The 16 Days of Activism for No violence against women and children came to an end on Monday.

Civil Society groups have called for this campaign to be an ongoing campaign beyond the 16 days.

Senior government leaders at a closing ceremony held in Rustenburg on Monday urged communities not to see the 10th of December as the end of the campaign.

North West Premier Thandi Modise Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said Premier Modise warned those who are abusers to stop with their actions or else the law will deal with them.

Kgwele said the National Council Against Gender-Based Violence promised that the council will assist the nation in the fight against any form of the abuse against women and children.
