South Africa pecieved to be among the highly corrupt

Two senior Crime Intelligence officials were released on R10,000 bail each today after appearing in court on charges of corruption.

It is alleged the unit's Chief Financial Officer Solly Lazarus and a subordinate, Colonel Hein Barnard, defrauded the secret slush fund of R1,14 million.

Crime Watch says this country has long way to go in fighting crime succesfully.

Crime Watch Comunications Manager Bongi Mlangeni expains further that out of a 176 countries we are entering the read area zone.

Mlangeni adds that the South Africa is becoming more and more counted among the contries that are pecieved to be highly corrupt.

She adds that her view on this is that it is problamatic.

Furthermore she adds that in comparison to other countries within the African continent , there are countries that are doing far better than South Africa and she adds that South Africa has the capabilty to do as well as any other country in Africa.
