Ramaphosa attending funeral of late President Michael Sata

Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa has today departed for Zambia where he will on Tuesday attended the funeral of the late Zambian President Michael Sata.

President Sata died in London last week, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness.

In a statement President Jacob Zuma said Sata supported robust economic transformation of the country, which led to a positive economic growth and increased investment in Zambia. 

Deputy President Spokesperson Ronnie Mamoepa said in conveying his condolences President Zuma said President Sata death must remind the people of South Africa of the sacrifice and great leadership role that Zambia played of riding the African continent of the apartheid rule.
