Success in war against drugs

Police in Kraaifontein this week managed to confiscate dried abalone and dried shark fins from a storage warehouse in Uitzicht. 

Captain FC van Wyk said according to information they received the person renting the storage unit is allegedly a man from Durbanville and police will be following up on this information. 

Van Wyk said Philippi police proceeded to a house in Suran Road in Hanover Park where they found a 29-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman inside the house.

Van Wyk said upon searching the house, the police members seized a large quantity of Mandrax and tik and an undisclosed amount of cash.

Van Wyk said the estimated street value of the drugs is R60000.

Van Wyk said according to information, the person renting the storage unit is a man from Durbanville and will be followed up by the police.
"An inquiry for illegal possession of abalone and shark fins was opened Van Wyk added.
