Cape Town man who murdered neighbour 103rd on waiting list by Valkenberg psychiatric hospital

The Seesig murderer, Kyle Ruiters, is 103rd on the waiting list of the people who have been referred to the Valkenberg psychiatric hospital for psychological observation.

Ruiters appeared in a preliminary hearing in the Western Cape High Court on Friday.

He was found guilty in court exactly one month ago of the murder of 32-year-old Lynette Volschenk in her apartment in the Seesig apartment block in Bellville in 2019.

According to the court order, he will be evaluated by a psychologist appointed by the state as well as a psychologist appointed by his legal team.

The case was postponed to 20 October 2023.
