A fire that broke out in Khayelitsha Q section yesterday afternoon has left 150 shacks destroyed and hundreds homeless.
Several people have been killed in fires in Cape Town in the past couple of months in Khayelitsha.
The Disaster Risk Management’s Wilfred Solomons-Johannes said, “150 shacks were gutted and we have accommodated the people within the Site B community hall.”
The cause of the fire is still unclear but an investigation is underway.
