The Congress of the People has repeated the fact that there will be no formal discussion at its elective conference about a split in the party.
Reports have said that Cope was set to discuss a formal split today on the eve of its fourth attempt to hold an elective congress.
Party spokesperson Philip Dexter has denied this, saying the party is concentrating on preparing for its first elective conference in Pretoria.
It takes place two years after Cope’s founding conference in Bloemfontein.
