The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa has joined the list of organisations that have criticised the proposed new economic growth plan.

Numsa is calling for more debate on the new growth plan.

The proposed growth plan was announced last month by Minister of Economic Development Ebrahim Patel.

Numsa General Secretary Irwin Jim said, “It does not deal with measures on how to deal with over-constriction of wealth in the hands of a few and define clearly the role of the state."
