The death toll on South African roads has risen to more than 800 this month.

Spokesperson for the Road Traffic Management Corporation Ashref Ismail says dangerous overtaking and careless and intoxicated pedestrians are also a major cause for concern.
A total of one-thousand-149 people lost their lives on the roads in December last year.
