The extreme heat and spring tides being experienced at coastal resorts has led to the National Sea Rescue Institute being extremely busy at East London, the Wilderness, Simonstown, Hermanus and Melkbosstrand in Cape Town.
Rescue workers were called on to treat patients for incidents ranging from near drowning, heat stroke, a seizure, an asthma attack and food poisoning.
Spokesperson Craig Lambinon has once again appealed to parents to take proper care of their small children.
