The Transport Department has said that disposable breathalyser test readings are reliable, however the results will not be admissible in court.
The product is being used in countries such as France and Australia and will be used in South Africa.
The ministry is aiming at launching the 70mm glass tube at social places like clubs and restaurants.
The breathalyser test is designed to detect the presence of alcohol in a person’s body after testing the breath.
The disposable test can come in handy as people can test themselves and take precaution on the roads.
