The trek fisherman has launched their nets at the Sonwabe beach.
When trawling takes place along the Cape Flats coastline, there is an increase in shark activity.
The beach has been closed off for swimming.
The public is requested to make use of the following beaches because of the lifeguards on duty, Fish Hoek, Muizenberg, Strandfontein, Mnandi, Monwabisi and Macassar.
