A 24-year-old man was arrested over the weekend by the Butterworth police this is after he tried to rape a 20-year-old woman.
Police Spokesperson Jackson Manatha said the woman was on her way home from a local shop when she came across the suspect.
The 24-year-old man is expected to
appear in the Butterworth
Magistrate Court
Manatha said she was accosted by a
man who wanted her cell phone initial but when he could not get the phone he
tried to rape her but traffic officials appeared and gave chase then he was
arrested.
