Cape Town executive mayor Helen Zille and City Manager Achmat Ebrahim, with the multi-party government, announced the re-launch of the city’s anti-corruption hotline today.
Zille says the City observes zero tolerance on corruption and fraud and thus will cease every opportunity to resolve these issues of crime.
It involves the ‘whistle blowing’ on corruption within the city and an initiative to get the public involved to stop fraudulent crime.
The toll-free number is 0800 32 31 30. The calls are completely confidential, and all calls relating to corruption and fraud will be dealt with in a serious manner.
The re-launch has three phases, which begins today and runs over the December period.
The 9th of December is also World Anti-Corruption day. There will be continuous marketing for the re-launch, road shows and “operation role-out” to the community.
