The Western Cape Education MEC Cameron Dugmore is visiting the Matric exams marking centre today.
He visited the Cape Peninsula University of Technology at the Bellville campus, marking centre.
There are two thousand two hundred markers that will be marking about one million examination scripts from matriculants who have just finished writing their Senior Certificate examinations.
Minister of Education Naledi Pandor will announce the results on the 28th of this month.
At the same date, MEC Dugmore and his department will honour the best performing learners and schools for the year 2006.
Education department spokesperson, Gert Witbooi said the MEC is satisfied with the marking centre progress.
