The Health committee of Woodstock today promoted an Aids awareness programme to mark World Aids day at the Woodstock Day Hospital in Cape Town.
The day started with a Karaoke where people joined in and sang together.
Xoliswa Mketsu, one of the organisers, says the aim of the programme is to encourage more HIV testing to take place.
She appealed to, especially the youth, to become informed and educated on their status as well as Aids-related illnesses.
Counsellors at the hospital gave patients and members of the public an opportunity to test themselves on the premises.
A Health committee member at the hospital confirmed that many people came forward to be tested.
