Five suspects arrested for car hijacking in Durban

Durban Police arrested five suspects for car hijackings which occurred in various Durban suburbs. 

During the arrest in Umlazi police also seized a 9mm firearm with its serial number filed off as well as a toy gun that the suspects allegedly used in the hijackings. 

Police recovered all the stolen vehicles in Umlazi Township. 

KwaZulu Natal Spokesperson Colonel Jay Naicker said the suspects age between 19 and 22 will be charged for three counts of hijackings, possession of unlicensed firearms and theft of vehicles.

Naicker further said at this stage the police are still looking for one more member of the gang from Umlazi area.
