A warning has been issued
about the danger in the vicinity of the Rhodes Memorial after two students were
raped in a period of months. With the latest incident happening on the 19 January 2016 it has
become a huge concern.
A campus-wide alert has been
alarmed to caution students and staff. Police spokes-person Captain FC Van Wyk
incidents of rape are being investigated.
“We
can confirm that in the month of December 2015, a second incident involved at
the UCT student reported on the 10 of October 2016. Both these issues are
reported no arrest has been made as yet. Investigation continues”.
He added….”Anyone with any information about these two cases is currently
requested to contact crime stop on 08600 10111 or Mowbray Police for further
information”.
