The lawyer representing one of the men accused of killing tourist Anni Dewani says he has advised his client to lay charges of assault against the police.
Mziwamadoda Qwabe declares he cooperated with police when they arrested him, but claims he was beaten up.
His lawyer Thabo Nogemane says even though he hasn’t contacted the police, he has no reason not to believe his client.
Nogemane says according to the information that he has, his client was assaulted.
