The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa has rejected aluminium company BHP Billiton’s revised wage offer of 8.5 percent on Saturday.
The company increased its offer to 8.5 percent from an initial seven percent on Friday, meanwhile NUMSA is demanding a 12 percent wage increase.
Mineworkers have been on strike since Wednesday and will continue until an agreement is reached.
