Ad Hoc Working Group says more work needs to be done in Durban #COP17

The Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG – LCA) held its 8th meeting today.

The aim of the meeting was for the different countries present to exchange views and suggest a way forward.

Countries received a document dealing with several issues including mitigation, adaptation, discussions on legal options, and a preparation of a comprehensive and balanced outcome at COP17/CMP7.

The countries present gave their presentations included Argentina, Japan, Switzerland, China, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Australia, Bahamas, India Colombia, Pakistan, Nigeria and the European Union. #COP17

The main concerns of the countries was that more work needs to be done, postponing decisions until COP18 is not an option, more needs to be done regarding mitigation, adaptation and legal options.

The countries also called for discussions in the next few days to be balanced, fair and transparent.
