The African Group call for a positive outcome at COP17/CMP7 #COP17

The African Group today said that it is important that when they leave COP17/CMP7 in Durban they have as an ambitious outcome as possible.
Speaking at Durban’s ICC, Chairperson of African Group negotiators, Tosi Mpanu Mpanu says he hopes that people from Africa will try to go above and beyond national position to keep the African Union safe.
Mpanu Mpanu says as the African Continent contributes the least with climate change phenomenon, they will make sure that the second commitment of Kyoto Protocol will be signed.
Mpanu added that they need to use two tools which are objective, and these are what the science says and secondly the rule of law. “The rule of law is very important; we believe that the current governance is based on strong rule”. He said. #COP17
