As Commander-in-Chief of the National Defence Force, President Jacob Zuma has announced salary increases for members of the SANDF.
At a Reconciliation Day ceremony at Freedom Park in Pretoria, Zuma said soldiers on salary levels two to 12, from privates to colonels, or the occupational class of military practitioner, will receive increases ranging between two- and 65-percent.
The President says the intention is to build a Defence Force that will bring back pride and attract many young men and women to its calling.
