The South African Human Rights commission has noted reports that allege that the African National Congress’s Western Cape Provincial Chairperson, Marius Fransman has snubbed the meeting arranged by the commission as part of its investigation in a dispute between Fransman and the South African Jewish Board of Deputies.

Isaac Mangena head of communications at the SAHRC said the commission confirms that there was a meeting called between Fransman and the Jewish Board of Deputies as part of the investigation.

Fransman excused himself from the meeting due to urgent Parliament engagements.

“His absence from the meeting can not be viewed as a snub either to the Commission, or the process initiated by the Jewish Board of Deputies.

“His absence from the meeting has no bearing to the investigation which will still be continuing” Mangena added.
