A body of a 56-year-old man who went
missing on Saturday afternoon in Table Bay was
discovered late Sunday evening.
It is alleged that he was
experiencing difficulty while swimming when he drowned.
The National Sea Rescue Institute
together with police divers searched for the man since Saturday.
NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said
the body was handed over to the forensic pathology services and police have
opened an inquest docket.
Meanwhile a 25-year-old Chinese
crewman was rescued on a 230 meter bulk carrier off Cape Point after needing
medical assistant while on board.
It is believed that the man suffered
a severe fall on deck which resulted in several bruises and lacerations to the
thigh and leg.
NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said
on arrival on scene paramedics stabilized the patient and he was transported to
a nearby hospital for further care.
