Eight months pregnant woman injured in collision

A woman understood to be eight months pregnant was one of three people injured in a collision on the N3.

The incident occurred on the Johannesburg side of the Villiers toll plaza heading towards the Free State earlier today.

Emergency services from Pietermaritzburg came across the incident and rushed to assist the patients.

The vehicle was laying on its roof.

Upon assessment it was found that she sustained moderate injuries and her baby appeared to be fine at the time.   

Several meters away was the second vehicle that was involved in the incident which had rolled into a veld. 

The driver was in a serious condition but the passenger however sustained minor injuries.


Patients were treated and emergency medical services from Grootvlei that were contacted to assist transported the patients to hospital.
