SAMWU disapproves City of Cape Town’s Wasteful and Careless Expenditure

The South African Municipal Workers’ Union has learnt that the City of Cape Town will allegedly be spending ridiculous amounts of money on international travel.

It has been reported that the mayor Patricia de Lille and her council will allegedly be spending over R2.2 million on five international trips this financial year alone.

SAMWU is of the view that these international trips are unnecessary and amounts to irrational, wasteful and careless expenditure.

SAMWU demands that the City of Cape Town redirects its R 12.54 million budget for 2016/17 financial.
