Man declared dead after Pietermaritzburg crash

A man involved in a collision at the corner of Church and East streets in Pietermaritzburg this morning was declared dead in the hospital.

Paramedics arrived on scene and found that a vehicle had crashed into a light pole. The driver unresponsive in the vehicle.

Life support interventions were initiated. The man was transported to a hospital.

It is suspected that the man may have had a medical emergency prior to the crash.


The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
