Cosatu general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi says a national convention will take place early next year on the so-called Secrecy Bill.

This forms part of a seven-point campaign of resistance against the Protection of State Information Bill negotiated between the union federation, editors and the Right2Know campaign.

Following yesterday’s planning meeting, Vavi said withholding information that was in the public interest was anathema to the spirit and letter of the Freedom Charter and the Constitution.
