The death toll in the crash outside Harrismith in the Free State has risen to 30.
The dead include nine children and a baby.
Seven injured people remain in hospital after a taxi smashed into a truck in the early morning hours.
Paramedics say 35 people had been crammed into the taxi.
The accident happened when one of the drivers veered out of his lane on the N-3.
