The Golden Arrow bus strike will continue indefinitely as unions are locked in negotiations.

Bus driver unions have demanded an 18 percent increase while employers offered 6.5 percent.

The current minimum salary was about R3 900. Metrorail has stepped in to help as peak periods have been extended due to the extra volume of numbers.

Golden Arrow Bus Service Spokesperson John Dammert said the situation regarding the strike remains unchanged and Golden Arrow will not be able to provide any bus services at this time.

“If there should be any developments, Golden Arrow will inform all the stakeholders” Dammert added.
