The Western Cape Agriculture Sector
has embraced the Future of Agriculture and the Rural Economy Process.
FARE said the recent wage strike and
conflicts in several farming areas have brought to the fore the challenges
facing the agriculture sector and production in particular.
The FARE process was launched on
Friday.
Co-Chair of the FARE steering
committee Andrew Boraine said the process that will bring all the stakeholders
together at provincial and local level to find ways to build a common agenda
and a common action plan.
“We are going to do this with the
help of an independent panel” Boraine added.
