The bus driver’s strike that started on Friday is set to continue this coming week.
The workers downed tools on Friday after negotiations between the South African Transport and Allied Workers Union and the South African Bus Employers' Association failed on Thursday last week.
The workers are demanding to be given an 18 percent wage increase among other things, the employers have only offered a 2,5 percent.
The Golden Arrow bus company has advised that no bus services will be provided on Monday.
GABS`s Media Officer Bronwen Dyke said the company would like to apologise to the commuting public for the inconvenience caused by the strike and will endeavour to keep all stakeholders informed regarding further developments.
SATAWU’s Vincent Masoga said the strike will affect many people that are using the bus.
Bus commuters in the Western Cape on Friday were allowed to board the trains with their bus tickets.
