North West will establish Traffic College

The North West provincial government is set to establish its own traffic college to meet the demand for new traffic officers and continuous training of provincial and municipal traffic officers.

Spokesperson for Premier Thandi Modise, Lesiba Kgwele said the college will cater for training of 400 hundred training officers.

The college was to be kick-started over the next three years at an estimated amount of 10 million rand.

Kgwele said the college will offer these courses for traffic diploma, vehicle examination, diving licences examination, testing centre inspector, weigh bridge management and speed detection.

“Other refresher courses to be offered at the college for the benefit of 505 provincial traffic officers would also be available.” Kgwele added.
