Two men arrested for possession of abalone

Today the Beaufort West Flying Squad arrested two men for being in possession of abalone worth R529 000. 

The flying squad discovered the abalone after searching their vehicle on Leeu Gamka and Beaufort West Road. 

Captain Bernadine Steyn said when police searched the vehicle they found 43 bags of abalone, that weighs about 7,5kg.
 
Steyn said, the two men age, 29 year-old and 32 year-old will appear in court soon.

She added that the men are allegedly from Khayelitsha in Cape Town.
