A 40 year old woman burnt to death in her Wendy house yesterday in Leiden, Delft.
Captain Joe Wilson says residents tried to extinguish the flames which had started engulfing both the front and back of the house.
Upon arrival of emergency services and further investigation they found the charred remains of Carol Poggenpoel.
According to those close to the family the deceased had both legs amputated and was wheel-chair bound.
“The cause of the fire is not known and foul play is not suspected. The deceased was alone at the time the structure caught fire,” said Wilson.
