Over 200 countries are expected to watch the FIFA World Cup draw on Friday the 4th of December.

Earlier this morning Local Organising Committee Chief Executive Officer Danny Jordan said the City of Cape Town as well as South Africa is ready to host the most extravagant event of out time.

Jordan together with Cape Town Mayor Dan Plato emphasised that local resident will benefit from the World Cup.

“In our view this is going to be a successful event after the events we have hosted in the country, not so long ago we hosted a successful Confederations Cup.

“The City of Cape Town has about 235 000 beds of which is not a concern unlike other cities where we expect to run out of bed,” said Dr Danny Jordan.

From 00:05 on the 5th of December tickets will go on sale for people so they watch their favorite teams playing and they will have an opportunity to watch their favorite players playing in front of them added Jordan.

Cape Town Mayor Dan Plato added that all contingency plans have been put in place to accommodate those that will be visiting the city for the very first time during the event.

“We are expecting loads of people again to flock in the City on Friday night as they did on Sunday night during the switching of the lights on.

“I think Capetonians are starting to get into the 2010 fever, I have been asked by people about the readiness of the City to host this event and I can say we are ready,” said Dan Plato.

Jordan said Capetonians can look specifically to the teams that will be playing in Green Point after the draw.
