Eastern Cape Police has confirmed that a man in his twenties and a five-year-old boy lost their lives in an accident near Grahamstown on Monday.
It is believed that the bakkie they were
travelling in had a burst tyre and the driver lost control which resulted in
the bakkie rolling down an embankment.
Captain Mali Govender said open bakkie
transporting four adults and two children were travelling from the direction of
Grahamstown to Port Elizabeth when the accident
occurred.
Govender said four of the victims were
family members who had taken a lift with the vehicle.
“An adult female, two adult males and a
three-year-old male toddler were taken to a local hospital and the extent of
their injuries are not known” Govender added.
