The Beneficiaries of Walmer Estate received their title deeds after waiting for more than 30-years.
The deeds were handed over by Western Cape
MEC of Human Settlement Bonginkosi Madikizela last week.
MEC Madikizela said while addressing the
beneficiaries that these title deeds officially open doors to becoming
finically stable and economically emancipated.
Ministerial Spokesperson Zalisle Mbali said
on this problem the department has spent over R1.9 million on the application
of the Enhance Extended Discount Benefit Scheme in this area and an amount of R
4million was also spent on the general day to day maintenance of the houses.
