Johannesburg Metro Police Department alert public about the fake job advertisment spreading on social media

The Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) has issued a warning about a fraudulent job advertisement circulating on social media.

The JMPD has disassociated itself from a misleading ad promoting a Metro Police learner ship that includes images of officers and JMPD vehicles. The department stated that the advertisement is not legitimate and does not represent its ongoing operations.

Spokesperson Xolani Fihla explained that the JMPD is currently focused on an internal training initiative designed to transition Traffic Wardens into Metro Police Officers, enhancing services for Johannesburg residents.

The JMPD urges the public to remain cautious and verify the legitimacy of any job postings claiming to be from the department.

Official announcements regarding job vacancies will always be made through the City of Johannesburg’s authorised channels, including its website and media platforms.
